devices

ak license devices

List the devices activated against your AgentKit App license, including which one is the current device.

Use ak license devices to see every device bound to your AgentKit App license, for example before you free a slot with ak license devices deactivate. The command is read-only.

Usage

ak license devices [flags]

The command takes no positional arguments.

Options

FlagDefaultDescription
--registry-url <url>Environment or release defaultOverride the AgentKit registry base URL.

Shared flags such as --json are described in CLI conventions. The command never prompts, so --yes and --no-interactive do not change it.

Before you run

You need a license-key session from ak login --license-key; see ak login. The command reads ~/.agentkit/auth/session.json (under AGENTKIT_HOME when set) and uses the stored device session token. It writes nothing locally.

It then calls GET /api/agentkit/licenses/devices on the registry with that token as a bearer credential, reading pages of up to 100 devices until the reported total is reached (at most 50 pages). Each request times out after 15 seconds. A response whose status is not active is an error.

Output

Human output lists a count and one line per device: id, name, platform, first seen, and last seen. The current device ends with (this device), and an empty name prints as (unnamed device).

[i] Devices (1)
dev_abc123 Work laptop darwin-arm64 first seen 2026-01-01T00:00:00.000Z last seen 2026-09-24T00:00:00.000Z (this device)

With no devices it prints No devices found.

--json writes the shared envelope with kind license.devices:

{
  "schema_version": 1,
  "kind": "license.devices",
  "data": {
    "devices": [
      {
        "id": "dev_abc123",
        "deviceName": "Work laptop",
        "platform": "darwin-arm64",
        "appVersion": "1.2.3",
        "firstSeenAt": "2026-01-01T00:00:00.000Z",
        "lastSeenAt": "2026-09-24T00:00:00.000Z",
        "isCurrentDevice": true
      }
    ],
    "total": 1,
    "unsupported": false
  }
}

appVersion appears in JSON only. Use id as the <device-id> for deactivate.

License server without device support

If the registry answers the device route with a bare 404, 405 or 501 and no error code, the command treats it as not supported yet. It prints Device list not available yet: the license server does not offer it. Your devices stay active. and exits 0. In JSON mode, devices is [], total is 0, and unsupported is true. Check unsupported before treating an empty list as "no devices".

Exit behavior

ExitMeaningSafe next step
0The list was printed, including an empty list or the unsupported notice.Read data.devices and data.unsupported.
1No license-key session, registry mismatch, session store failure, or a registry or network error.Run ak login --license-key against the intended registry, then retry.

With --json, errors use the shared JSON error envelope on stderr.
