ak data

ak data

Inspect derived-data defaults, refresh the local operational read model, and preview retention boundaries.

Use ak data for the local derived operational-data surfaces. These commands do not manage content-search shards even though content_shard appears as a retention data class.

Usage

ak data

The group accepts no documented positional arguments and shows its subcommands.

Inspect compiled defaultsak data status --jsonReports seven known classes with the default forever posture; it does not inspect the database.

Request applyak data retention --class ingestion_runs --days 30 --applyIntended to prune at most 500 rows, but the current release cannot complete this apply path; read the retention page first.

Storage and privacy

With the default home, the operational database is ~/.agentkit/operational/operational.db; AGENTKIT_HOME changes the base. The store uses private current-user paths and refuses unsafe symlinks, foreign databases, corrupt stores, and newer schemas rather than rebuilding them.

Ingest stores derived session metadata, token/tool/skill counters, opaque source identity and checkpoints, redacted failure codes, and a local-only absolute source locator. It does not store raw message bodies in the operational tables, but it reads local session files to derive those records.

No ak data subcommand contacts the AgentKit registry, a provider, or the network, and none requires registry authentication or kit entitlement.

Safety boundaries

--json, --no-interactive, and --yes are not confirmation controls for this family. There are no prompts. Omitting --apply is the retention preview control; ingest writes immediately.

Runtime-owned Claude Code and Codex source files are never deleted or modified by ingest or retention. Retention targets only a closed allowlist of local, non-syncable, prunable tables. Content-search deletion uses the separate ak content-search delete lifecycle.

Automation output and exits

ak data subcommands emit raw command-specific JSON on stdout, not a shared versioned envelope and not NDJSON. Runtime errors generally exit 1; malformed flag values exit 2. JSON errors are not guaranteed to be structured.
