ak skills grants

ak skills grants add

Verify one installed skill entrypoint, show its permissions and audit, and record the grant that lets exec run it.

Use ak skills grants add to allow one entrypoint of an installed skill to run through ak skills exec. Execution never prompts, so this command is the only way to grant. It never runs a script or an interpreter.

Usage

ak skills grants add <@publisher/slug@sha256:<hex>> --entrypoint <name> [flags]

Supply exactly one reference pinned by a sha256 digest.

Options

FlagDefaultDescription
--entrypoint <name>requiredSelect the declared entrypoint to grant.
--project <root>Global scopeLimit the grant to one project root.
--label <text>EmptyAttach a label of at most 128 printable characters.
--container-image <name@sha256:hex>EmptyBind a container image pinned by digest. Give it together with --container-interpreter.
--container-interpreter <path>EmptyAbsolute interpreter path inside the image. Give it together with --container-image.
--dry-runfalseShow what would be granted without writing.

AgentKit never pulls the container image. Shared flags are described in CLI conventions. AGENTKIT_SKILL_EXEC_BROKER=1 is required.

What it does

  1. Verifies the content-store entry.
  2. Reads the manifest from a read-only copy and binds the interpreter.
  3. Prints the permission summary and an advisory script audit.
  4. Records the grant in AGENTKIT_HOME/state/exec/grants.json.

The output states identity unverified: the store proves only the tree digest, not who published it. When the audit finds risky findings, a warning is also written to stderr.

Review the permission summary and audit before you grant. The grant binds the exact tree, entrypoint, capabilities, and interpreter, never expires, and holds no secret. Revoke it with ak skills grants revoke.

An identical grant is a no-op that prints Already granted as <id>.

Output

JSON uses kind=skills.grants.add with these fields under data:

grant, key, created, dryRun, identityVerified, summary[], audit

Exit behavior

ExitMeaning
0The grant was recorded, already existed, or the dry run finished.
1Command failure, such as a busy grants store.
2The broker is disabled, flags are invalid, the manifest is invalid, or the interpreter is unavailable.
5The store entry or entrypoint was not found.
7The store entry failed verification, or the grants file is invalid.
