ak skills kit
ak skills kit inspect
Resolve a personal kit offline and show its lock-ready composition plan without writing anything.
Use ak skills kit inspect to see what a personal kit composes: its
foundations and every skill with its kind (foundation, overlay or fork), base,
overlay and composition digests, exposure, trust and scripts. Runtime
projections are not previewed; the plan shows the composition, not the files a
runtime adapter would write.
Usage
ak skills kit inspect <name> [flags]Options
| Flag | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
--kits-dir <dir> | $AGENTKIT_KITS_DIR or ./kits | Foundation kits directory. |
--runtime <runtime> | Empty | Runtime to inspect the plan for. A runtime the manifest does not list is a usage error. |
Shared flags are described in CLI conventions. The command works offline for every user: it needs neither the skill store nor SkillX.
What it reads
The command is read-only. It reads the personal kit under
AGENTKIT_HOME/kits/personal/<name> and the foundation kits directory, and
never writes, installs, applies a plan, or calls a network or model. AgentKit
user overrides are reported, never applied.
Output
The text output starts with the kit and its owner, then one foundation line
per foundation (kit, version, tier, trust), one block per skill (kind, identity,
alias, from for a fork, exposure and its source, composition digest, declared
scripts), the inputs digest, resolver warnings, and the note
projection_preview_unavailable.
JSON uses kind=skills.kit.inspect with these fields under data:
plan: schema, personalKit, name, owner, manifestDigest,
foundations[]: kit, version, tier, origin, trust
packages[]: identity, alias, kind, from, foundation, ownerKit, providers[],
baseTreeDigest, overlayDigest, compositionDigest, owner,
exposure, exposureSource, trust, origin, scripts[], overlayDir,
resolutionDigest, pinnedBy
runtimes[], warnings[], inputsDigest
runtime
warnings[]Resolving the same inputs gives byte-identical plan JSON.
Exit behavior
| Exit | Meaning |
|---|---|
0 | Success. |
1 | Command failure, or an overlay conflict, shared alias, alias collision or stale proposal (JSON error_code conflict). |
2 | Invalid flags or arguments, or a malformed manifest, overlay or proposal. |
5 | Personal kit, foundation kit, version or skill not found. |
7 | Revoked foundation. |
