ak skills kit

ak skills kit remove

Drop the personal:<name> references of a personal kit from a scope's skills roots and lock, keeping the kit's own files.

Use ak skills kit remove to drop a personal kit's projections. The command removes only the personal:<name> references in the scope, for all of the kit's runtimes or the ones --runtime names. The personal kit's own files and kit install records are never touched.

Usage

ak skills kit remove <name> [flags]

Options

FlagDefaultDescription
--dry-runfalsePrint the plan, its review findings and plan token; write nothing.
--scope <scope>projectLock and skills root scope: project or global.
--runtime <list>All of the kit's runtimesclaude-code, codex; repeatable. Limits the removal to these runtimes.

Shared flags are described in CLI conventions.

Requirements

The skill store must be on, after ak update --ssot or with AGENTKIT_SKILL_STORE=1, for dry runs too; with it off the command exits 2. The store gate follows --scope.

What it does

The command runs the same journaled transaction as ak skills kit apply, under the kit lifecycle lock, and updates the scope's skill lock and receipts. Removing a kit that is not applied changes nothing and exits 0.

  • A file another owner still holds stays.
  • A file you changed after it was projected is preserved and reported with ownership.modified.
  • An alias a legacy kit install also records keeps its files, with a hint to run ak kit refresh <kit>.
  • A removal without --runtime also drops the scope's rebase conflict report for the kit.

Output

The text output has the shape of the ak skills kit apply output.

JSON uses kind=skills.kit.remove with the same data fields as skills.kit.apply:

personalKit, status, requiredApproval, planToken, findings[],
revision, previous, plan
